The Message is Simple

|

Children can accomplish anything with dedication and hard work..
Goals may differ but the equation remains the same One must
"Believe in order to
Achive".
Dedication
+ Hard work +
Belief in oneself = Goal Achievement.
|
The value of this sport teaches children
responsibility and dedication, two critical elements in "SUCCESS". Proper
Care and training of sled dogs enabling them to race, brings out this point
very clearly. Not only does Dog Sled Racing teach sportsmanship, teamwork,
dedication, and responsibility it offers self satisfaction and a sense of
pride.

Hello, my name is
Jasper; I am resident leader of Northwind Kennels and the former leader of one of the
fastest sled dog sprint teams in the Midwest. Besides racing I also spend my
time, along with my friends, visiting school children and teaching them
about myself and my friends and what it is like to be a sled dog. This gives
the children the opportunity to experience and learn about this sport and
dogs like myself. I also have an important message to give to the
children and it is simple: "Believe
in order to Achieve."
The interesting part of this true story (click
here for story) is that it
was said that I would never run again after being hit by a truck. I went
through six months of therapy and hard work so that I could do what I
love best: "To Run and be a Part of the Team. I had to Believe in
order to Achieve." |

During the 2000-2001 school year the team visited 17 Wisconsin K-6
schools and helped educate 4400 students about the sport of sled dog racing. |

Students get the opportunity to see
the equipment as well as try it out.

Besides visiting schools, Jasper and his friends
are regular visitors at Park Manor in
Park Falls, WI.
